Rock & Roll (Boogie-Woogie)

Rock & Roll is a musical genre of marked rhythm that derives from other genres such as doo wop, rhythm and blues, hillbilly, blues or country. Rock & Roll achieved its popularity in the 50s thanks mainly to Elvis Presley (singer), Chuck Berry (guitarist) and such representative bands as Eddie Cochran, Little Richard and Bill Haley and The Comets, among others. Rock & Roll is a couple dance that is considered an evolution of Lindy Hop. Since its birth in the 50s in the United States, it has been closely linked to youth rebellion as it is a fast, energetic and carefree dance. It is not only a ballroom dance but also combines with the dynamic movements of the JIVE and the acrobatics.
