Internal rules
School rules: sign-up, payments, absences, make-up classes and class etiquette.
Attendance And Absence Management
- If you can't attend a class, we'd appreciate it if you let us know at least 24 hours in advance. You can do this through our website, email (info@swingcats.cat), WhatsApp, phone (627 728 747), or at reception. With enough notice, we can try to find a substitute partner so your dance partner can still enjoy the class.
- When we don't receive notice with sufficient advance, we can't offer you the option to make up that class in another group, as we need to organize groups in advance.
- In our courses we work with two types of couples: couples who sign up together (registered couples) and those we form by pairing individual students (assigned couples).
- For registered couples, if one can't come and doesn't give notice in time, the other won't be able to attend either, as they committed to coming together.
- For couples we form, if one is absent without notice, the absent person won't be able to make up the class, but their partner can still attend. We believe this is the fairest approach, as it's not your partner's responsibility if you can't come.
- If someone is repeatedly absent without notice (3 times in a quarter), we'll find a new partner for their companion. If you want to continue with the course, we'll help you find another partner or you can bring someone who signs up with you.
- A taxi is a student from the school of the same level or higher than the person who is absent, who attends the class to substitute for this student and maintain group balance. Students can report their absences and accept taxis on the website, as well as by contacting administration.
- When we offer a taxi, we count on the student as one more member of the group, so they have to be responsible and committed. It's an advantage for both the student and the school, as they get free classes and help us maintain balanced groups.
Registrations
- You can register comfortably through our website. Once payment is made, your place will be confirmed. Each person must register individually, indicating their dance partner's name and email.
- If you're already part of one of our groups, you have priority to continue in the same one. When registering, you can select this option. If you want to change schedule or style, contact us and we'll help you with the process.
- Don't have a partner? Don't worry! We'll include you on our waiting list and contact you by email when we have a place available. You'll have 24 hours to decide if you're interested.
- If you accept the place we offer you, your registration will be confirmed and you can proceed with payment. To maintain organization, we'll automatically cancel your other waiting list registrations for the same style.
- If the offered place doesn't suit you, we'll simply reject it and keep your other options active on the waiting list.
- To increase your chances of getting a place, we recommend registering as early as possible and considering different schedules. This way you'll have more options!
Payments And Refunds
- To confirm your place, you have 5 days from registration to make payment. Once payment is received, your registration will be confirmed and you can enjoy the course.
- You can pay comfortably in cash at our school or by bank transfer. For management reasons, we don't accept card payments.
- We understand that unexpected things happen. You can cancel your enrolment yourself from your Student Area or by contacting us. We refund 100% of what you paid if you cancel at least 30 days before the course starts and 50% of what you paid if you cancel at least 14 days before the course starts. With less notice we cannot offer a refund. You can choose to receive the amount by bank transfer or keep it as credit for another course. Once the course has started it can no longer be cancelled online: write to us and we will look into it.
- If for any reason the school cancels a course, we'll offer you alternatives in other groups, but we'll refund the full amount without any problem if the alternatives don't suit you or you're not interested in other options.
- In case we need to make any refund on our part, we always do it by bank transfer for greater security.
- If you have any serious problem (accident, illness with certificate, important family reasons), get in touch with us through our official channels and we'll find the best solution for you.
- In situations of force majeure or injury, we save the classes you haven't been able to enjoy so you can recover them in your next course.
- To help you better, it's important that you communicate any special situation before it happens. This allows us to organize groups better and offer you appropriate alternatives.
Coexistence And Admission Rights
- By enrolling and accepting your place, you confirm that you know and accept these rules, which are designed to create the best learning environment for everyone.
- When you reserve a place, you commit to participating in the complete course. We block that place for the entire quarter, and if someone leaves a course that has already started, it's difficult for another person to take advantage of that place. If you cannot participate in the entire course, contact administration beforehand to learn about the options.
- For the good functioning of the school, we ask our students to be responsible and respectful with coexistence rules, thus creating a pleasant environment for everyone.
- In exceptional cases where coexistence, attendance, or administrative rules are not respected, we are obliged to reconsider continuity in the course, always seeking the well-being of the entire community.
